Mugen est un féroce guerrier au style de combat plutôt sauvage alors que Jin est un samuraï très habile au style traditionnel. Ces deux samuraïs n’ont vraiment rien en commun mais leurs routes semblent se croiser. Mugen erre dans un salon de thé où il sauve la vie d’une jeune serveuse : Fû. Jin fait alors son apparition dans le salon de thé, Mugen sent qu’il est fort et ne peut s’empêcher de le défier. Fû les convainc de la suivre afin de retrouver un mystérieux samuraï qui sent comme les tournesols. C’est alors que commence leur long et périlleux voyage…
